I was born and raised in a small town called Mountain Home, Arkansas. My family still lives in that part of the country (parents there and sister in Memphis, TN). Because my dad played college tennis, I wanted to play competitive tennis from a young age. I met SBTC pro's Mark Basham and Larry Mousouris while visiting family in SB/Indian Wells at age 12. A couple years later, Larry coached me at the Easter Bowl and arranged for me to hit with Spencer, who he was coaching at the time. When it came time for me to choose a college, Mark was coaching Westmont College. After visiting the campus and receiving a scholarship offer, I chose to come to Westmont. I enjoyed competing under Mark for four years and coaching alongside him at Westmont for two years.I married my beautiful wife, Emily, in May '23, and I am on pace to graduate with a Master ofDivinity from the Master's Seminary (Los Angeles) in May '24. My wife, Emily, swam for four years while earning a degree in biology from UCSB and now works at Wyatt Technology inGoleta. We spend much of our time in and around our local church, Christ Church Carpinteria, and we are grateful to live in Santa Barbara.
